Diary Of Anne Frank Literary Analysis

“Determine what you want you want and why you want it. Once you understand what’s important, you can utilize your passions and do anything.” This famous quote by Brooke Griffin shows how utilizing your passions can be used to achieve any goals you have. There are great examples of chasing dreams and achieving goals in the movie “Freedom Writers” and the book “The Diary of Anne Frank”. Both “The Diary of Anne Frank” and “Freedom Writers” show that you should never give up and keep pushing to achieve your goals. The theme is similar between the stories because the characters are put in situations where they do not give up no matter what. In the movie “Freedom Writers” a new teacher named Mrs. Gruwell never gave up and kept pushing to achieve her goals. When she first started teaching, she couldn't control the class. Fights would break out, students swore and insulted each other, and the class was very divided as a whole. Mrs. Gruwell could not stand it any longer. For example, Anne Frank worked as hard as she could to achieve her goals of living fully. This is similar to the way Mrs. Gruwell worked as hard as she could to unite her classroom and have an impact on her students to help them live fully. Therefore, the way that Mrs. Gruwell and Anne Frank chased their goals was similar to each other. Also, the theme differs from the stories. Marcus and Anne are a good example of the differences. Marcus fought to help his friends and family while Anne fought to stay hidden; they faced very different situations. All of the characters in both “Freedom Writers” and “The Diary of Anne Frank” are good examples of pushing their limits, and doing whatever it takes to achieve their goals.
