Anne Frank Accomplishments

"I still believe, in spite of everything, that people are still truly good at heart"(Rosenblatt) Anne Frank was a jewish girl who had to stay hidden in a secret attic to save her life. She used writing as an escape from her real life. Throughout her life she document her personal life, while she was hiding, and after she hid in a journal her dad gave her. Some people believe that Annelies Marie Frank was one of the best writers of her time. With every line she wrote, you could feel her passion and anger. Anne Frank was born on June 12, 1929, 13 years later Otto, her father, gave Anne her first journal (Rosenblatt). Anne, her sister Margot, and parents, Otto and Edith lived in Franklin am Main (Burling 15). Anne loved writing and drawing. They did this to prove that jews were inferior because of their race and religion. Hitler designed laws that would punish the jews, this is how the idea of a concentration camp came to mind. A concentration camp is a small area where imprisoned people are forced to work for long periods of time. In March the first concentration camp was established, it housed more than 188,000 prisoners in two years (Burling 24). Hitler started locating people with a jewish ancestry and bringing them to concentration camps. The Frank family, and other family friends, hid in a secret annex for two years so the Nazi’s wouldn’t take them. They arranged a deal with friends to bring them food whenever possible (Burling 5-6). Unfortunately a Nazi got word of the families hiding and found them and took them to a concentration camp.
