The concentration camps began in 1941. The first concentration camp was Auschwitchchz Birkenau (Anne Frank A Hidden Life). Hitler distinguished the Jews by making them wear a yellow star on the right side of their shirt. Hitler did not just extract the Jews, he discriminated against gypsies, homosexual men and women, members of resistance, and prisoners of the war (Anne Frank A Hidden Life).Concentration camps are referred to as a camp in which people are detained or confines, usually under harsh conditions and without regard to legal arrest (Definition of CONCENTRATION CAMP). They were forced to get into lines by age and gender, being separated from their loved ones, they first had their heads shaved. When Anne, her family, and other Jews were sent to the camps they had to get their head shaved. They were tattooed with numbers instead of their names, as their identity was taken; some were sent to the gas chambers. Before this process and killed, they were tricked into taking fresh showers but, in reality it was the gas and it killed hundreds of people at a time. Babies and elderly were murdered first, as they could not work to aid the constructions of the concentration camp. Soldiers used babies for target practice. They would force individuals to compete for their lives and if you didn’t make it, or beat the other person in a race, they would be killed. Some people would make sure they would eat so they would not be killed, but the others did not care because they had lost hope. In the morning, their meal would be herbal tea, for lunch they had some watery soup, in the evenings a piece of bread that was supposed to last till the next day (Meals). Most deaths in the camps were caused from starvation, if not from starvation, they were weak and beaten. Many Jews lost faith in God because they believed if God was really their God, then why he let this happen to them and why did so many people lose their lives. The Jews can hear the World War II going on, that’s how close they were (Holocaust encyclopedia). When Hitler knew they were getting close they would have to move to another camp. This time they did not ride in wagons, they walked. They walked for miles in the snow, some with no shoes on others used cloth to wrap their feet for shoes. The Jews did not walk they were made to run and if you stopped running you would be shot, if you fell you, would die because the others could not stop so they would trample you. The snot would freeze as it was dripping. The Soviet Union allowed a couple breaks. When they were taking a break and you fell asleep it could be very dangerous because of how cold it was. Some would die where they sat and the bodies were just left there, getting covered up by the
