Anne Elliot Character Analysis

The Role Of Anne Character In Persuasion the protagonist of the novel Anne Elliot which is twenty-seven years old, is the middle daughter of the baronet Sir Walter Elliot. She is a simple minded , warm-hearted and practical women . At the age nineteen Anne fall in love with Captain Wentworth who asked her for marriage , but her family was against that because of his social class and lower birth. Even though Anne defied her father's opinion she could not go against the advice of Lady Russell who was like a second mother for her , and so, the engagement was broke off and Anne start to regret this decision and as a result of this regret and depression Anne had an early lost of bloom and spirits.
Anne nature is a passive nature and maybe because of that she had been neglected and ignored by her family even though she has an elegance of mind and sweetness of character , she was intelligent , sensible and practical women who could bring up a great suggestion and advices such as …show more content…
as when she said that she on no ceremony when she called to the great house to meet the Musgrove family she said when Mary suggests that she should wait until the Musgroves first com to see her " I should never think of standing on such ceremony with people I know so well as Mrs. And Miss Musgroves ". Her sense of humor is seen in her feeling amused when Henrietta wrote a letter to Dr. Shirley urging him to employ a younger man as an assistant while having in her mind her own fiancé Charles Hayter.
Though Anne is naturally a passive type , she is capable of taking the lead when faced with a crisis, when Louisa falls , Anne was the only one beside captain Wentworth who was able to keep calm and behave correctly , she offers comfort to them trying to quiet Mary and encourage Charles and captain Wentworth to move her gently to the inn , and this show that there some era of Anne personality that was undeveloped
