In this paper I will be discussing two wonderful authors I read about in The Norton Anthology of American Literature Volume A book. I will give a background on both artist Sarah Knight, and Anne Bradstreet. This paper will include how both writers can compare and how both artist contrast. I find both artist to be very well oriented when writing. Knight a Bradstreet are some form of poem writers, their work is published in the eighth edition of the Norton Anthology book.

Her occupation was a teacher, business woman, and court scrivener. She was married to Richard Knight and was the mother of one daughter Elizabeth. Knight was born in Boston. She was left a widow when her husband passed away in 1706. Knight was known as a journalist. When Knight lost her father she assumed full responsibility for managing the household. Things Knight was responsible to teach was penmanship, made copies of court records, and wrote letters for people having business with the courts. She was a very careful diarist. She entered the mind of her journal every night about a day of traveling. Knight journals consisted of her accounts of her travels and adventures, her food and lodgings, and the speech and customs of people she met throughout the journey. Knight had set out for New Haven, Connecticut. Knight journals had begun when she left Boston and ended when she returned to the busy household. Knight made most of her fears, especially in night riding and in the crossing of rivers. Knight remained active in business as well as legal affairs. Sarah knight diary passed into private hands and lay unknown until 1825. Knight famous journal was From The Private Journal of a Journey whom was from Boston to New York.
