Annaliese Henry, a student photographer for Hilltop News and a communications major wore casual workout clothes, an enthusiastic attitude, and a joyful and beautiful smile. She sat down with me on a chilly October day to answer this most famous question: Who is your biggest hero and why is that person your biggest hero?
Before she dived into the story, I got to learn a little bit about Annaliese’s past. She moved around a lot because her father was in the education system and liked to be nomadic. She was born June 19, 1995 in Madras, OR, then grew up in Terrebonne and finally ended up in Florence.
Annaliese described having many wonderful childhood memories. Her favorite memory, in particular, was going wood cutting with both her grandparents from her mother’s side.

He did not have his Father present in his life, so he worked to provide for his mother and siblings. At age 16 or 17, he saved up for a car in order to drive to work and sports practice.
Although, when he finally saved up enough money his mother took all his hard-earned cash and spent it on alcohol. He lost all the money and wasn’t angry or bitter about the loss. Annaliese’s mother even told her that her grandfather only yelled at her once growing up.
Annaliese is so moved by her grandfather’s character that she would even want to ask him about his walk with Jesus and how he views God, especially because her family does not talk much about faith despite being a Christian family.
“I’d want to ask him about his faith and gain wisdom from him.”
Annaliese is a woman of God and when she thinks of Jesus, she cannot help but smile. When she thinks of her grandfather that adds the extra sweetener for her walk with God.
