Ann Mccaffrey's The Little Dragon Boy

Have you ever been on a team where you were the smallest kid? The same thing happens with the Little Dragon Boy. Anne Mccaffrey writes about a little dragon boy named Keeven that has to face many obstacles from size to bullying to become a dragon rider. Mccaffrey uses very strong conflict to develop the theme The theme of a little dragon boy is “It is not about the size of your body it is the size of your heart”. The theme of the Little Dragon Boy is “It is not about the size of your body it is the size of your heart”. When Keeven has and obstacle in front of him he pushes through in no matter how hard it is, “ He sat down sending a jarring stab through his leg and up to the wound on the back of his head, gritting his teeth and blinking away tears he got up and scrabbled down the ramp”(54). With this quote it shows a lot about Keeven, and that it takes a lot of heart to get back up after you fall, especially when you have to get through pain. When Keeven felt discouraged, he went to his mother and she told him, “I like to believe that dragons see into a man’s heart,” (49). A boy named Beretli was always giving Keeven a hard time about his size.“Maybe if you run fast enough,” Beterli had jeered on the occasion when Keevan had been goaded to boast of his swiftness, “you could catch a dragon. That’s the only way you’ll make a dragon rider!”(49). No matter how many times Beretli talked bad about him, he would stand his ground.“You’d better make sure a dragon sees you, this time, Beterli,” Keevan replied. “You’re almost overage, aren’t you?”.Beterli flushed and took a step forward, hand half-raised. Keevan stood his ground”. Using this very strong conflict between characters it interprets the theme because in the end, keeven got his
