Animals Used For Experimentation Is Abuse Essay

Today and for dozens of years before, animals have been used to test cosmetics, household cleaners, and hygiene products. Is this considered animals abuse? Animal abuse is defined as, “The human infliction of suffering or harm upon any non-human animal, for purposes other than self-defense or survival” (dictionary.com). Animals used for experimentation is abuse. There is no logical reasoning for using innocent animals such as, mice, rats, dogs, cats, rabbits, primates, and others that are locked inside cold barren cages for experimentation (About Animal Testing). Right now, millions of these animals are locked in cages until they are needed for the next terrifying and painful procedure that will be performed on them. Animals are not ours to experiment on. Cosmetics and hygiene companies need to put an end to the use of animals for testing their products (Animals and Product Testing). Cosmetic, hygiene, and many other companies create effective products that everyone enjoys and uses daily, but is there really a need to use animals to test these upcoming products, there are other methods. Part of experimentation is trial and error. It takes multiple trials to create an effective product, but more often than not, products end up failing. For all those animals, used for this products trials, it was useless. Some tests have no purpose in the end. Animal after animal is being harmed and for what? Put anyone in their shoes, or paws, would anyone want to be locked in a cold, barren…
