Animal Testing

The harmful use of animals in experiments is not only cruel but inhumane. Today we can find more than millions of animals which have grieved in the name of animal testing by undergoing ruthless death. Sun (2012) and Jha (2005) found that around 3 million animals were used annually in experiments. These animals were either killed or subsequently euthanized. Animal testing involves the inflicting distress, pain or even death of animals in the name of medical and academic research. Cohen (1989) found that animals were force-fed, deprived of food or water for prolonged periods of time, or physically restrained against their will to satisfy the requirements of the testing process. Many organizations, such as the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, actively criticize the cruel treatment of animals in medical research. However, there are …show more content…
According to Sun (2012), animal testing is the most important requirement in this modern world because the whole medical science is based on these experimentation .Moreover, the medical knowledge gained from this is very valuable. In addition, Evans (2009) found that it benefits both animals and humans as it ensures safety of drugs and it may lead to scientific breakthroughs. But the facts behind the breakthrough is totally forgotten or neglected by the scientists in the name of human benefits by torturing animals for mankind’s own benefit. This information will be helpful to support my claims against animal testing.
