Animal testing is not ok for so many reasons. The first I have to say is about the hardship and pain to the animals. Animals feel pain along with humans, so why do we test on them? Animal Testing in the United States Every day animals are being used for scientific research either leaving them mutated or dead. Imagine your dog being taken into the lab for various cruel experiments that lasts for weeks. After being tested on multiple times your dog can’t take it anymore and ends up dying. Does that seem right for any animal to go through pain, and potentially risk their lives for research? “Each year in the United States an estimated 20-70 million animals—from cats, dogs, rabbits, rats, and mice suffer and end up dying in the name of research” (Congress).…

Animal experimentation dates back to “the early Greek physician-scientists, such as Aristotle, (384 – 322 BC) and Erasistratus, (304 – 258 BC), performed experiments on living animals due to animals having similar traits as the humans and to further progress on the understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and pharmacology” according to Raehel Hajar from the article Animal Testing and Medicine. However some might say, that the use of animals in experiments are often not effective since they do not get major types of diseases for example heart disease, many types of cancer, HIV, Parkinson’s disease, or schizophrenia so to test on animals it becomes unnecessary and artificial. But the proponents of the animal testing might say there…

After studying multiple views on animal testing I have come to realize my personal view has now changed since the start of my research. Before undergoing heavy study into animal testing I believed that all types of animal testing should be stopped, but now I believe that the idea is very beneficial and should only be done when the rights of the animal are considered. In the coming years, hopefully, more regulations can be passed to ensure that all animal’s lives are protected during experimentation. Although most animals are treated with care and no pain is dealt to them when undergoing testing, it would be a lie if I stated no animals are harmed during the process. Animal testing is extremely useful in developing life-saving drugs and medicine.…

Now days, society can volunteer themselves in clinical drug research for a monetary exchange. With modern science “we can see inside peoples’ brains using imaging machines or test microscopic amounts of new drugs harmlessly on volunteers.” (BUAV.org the campaign to end animal experiments, pg 7) Humans are more willing to volunteer themselves for the money, but also because strict health and safety precautions are put in place for their well-being at all times during the study. Humans can also communicate their side effects and pain occurrence which provides sound and optimal results for future modifications and or dosages. Unfortunately, animals cannot communicate these important factors, which in turn is useless.…
