When makeup is purchased, most people don’t check to see if it has been tested, and are unknowingly supporting it. Many defenseless animals are being used in factories to test numerous household products. Many of the experiments would be labeled as human cruelty if we did them to ourselves. No animal deserves to this kind of treatment. Animal cruelty should be illegal because there are less harmful ways to experiment, it's inhumane, and is deemed not to be very accurate.

Imagine having the choice of life or death left in your hands alone. On one end, there is a rat, who is energetically running to find a hiding spot from the broom sweeping across the floor. On the other end, there is a stay-at-home mom, jumped up on the table, violently stabbing at the rat in attempts to scare it away from her. One of them will die. According to Troy Seidle a pole concluded that, “88 percent of us believe animal testing causes pain and suffering to animals and that such suffering just for cosmetics isn’t worth it, especially when safe ingredients are already available,”(Seidle). Considering that most people don’t feel the need to buy products with newly tested ingredients, why should companies continue to do that it is not an absolutely necessary practice. There are thousands of chemicals out there that have already gone through the process of being tested so it wouldn’t be like companies couldn’t make new products, they could make many. Yes companies want to make money by selling newly improved products but that is not going to make people want to buy products that aren’t apart of their daily use. Gregory Mone states that animal testing is a long and expensive process and can take several years and use up millions of dollars to carry out, (Mone).…

People, especially scientists, are hurting innocent animals that did no harm to anyone. Animal testing shouldn't be allowed to happen because animals are getting hurt, they are not protected, and animals get mistreated. One reason that animal testing shouldn’t be allowed is because animals are getting hurt. For instance, the Draize eye test involves rabbits having their eyelids clipped open for as long as multiple days so that they don’t blink the product being tested away. Popular cosmetic brands like L'oreal, Lancome, Estee Lauder, and S.C. Johnson are used on animals.…

This quote explains animal testing perfectly; “Many cosmetic companies test their new products and ingredients by forcing rabbits, hamsters, and mice, among others, to endure horrific practices such as breathing in poisonous fumes or having lethal chemicals poured into their eyes and rubbed into their skin”(Natasha Cole, Cruelty Free Cosmetics). Many supporters of animal testing will argue that it can have positive outcomes, however, humanity uses it in vain ways. This makes it especially wrong because humans are treating animals cruelly and inhumanely mostly to look attractive. Continuing on about cosmetic testing on animals: “Animal testing for cosmetics is an outdated practice and does not provide the most reliable results regarding the safety, performance, or possible reactions that cosmetic products or ingredients could have in a person” (Natasha Cole, Cruelty Free Cosmetics). The reason to continue these means of testing on animals proves to be no longer relevant because easier and more reliable ways of testing do indeed exist.…
