Animal testing is a hazy subject. Humans have a huge advantage over other species because of our intellect. We are able to create and achieve amazing, mind boggling things, and we will mostly likely continue to do so. But to continue we need advancements in science and technology which are achieved through testing. Biological sciences require we test on living things, which Earth has an abundance of. What makes animal testing an agrued subject is because humans and animals share a few qualities. The main of which being emotions and pain. This is being refuted by some saying that animals can not feel and, in turn, show emotions. Animals being able to also feel pain makes it so they suffer during the testing. I believe that animals have feelings …show more content…
Animals still feel pain. Animals are living, breathing beings and humans have an important balance with them. Humans need them. I don’t think that it is a human thing to use animals as test subjects but we don’t have much of a choice. Until science progres more, animal testing is our only option if we want to keep making breakthroughs in biological science. These breakthroughs are needed to continue living in our current society because of how dangerous we made it for ourselves. Animal testing is hard to discuss morally because humans are the first ones to use it. It's outside our normal moral viewpoint and in a gray area. As a race, humans now rely on animal testing to continue major progress but it will be inhumane until we can make artificial bodies with pain receptors. The only immediate alternative to animal testing other than dropping research as of right now is human testing. Using human test subjects instead of animals is still inhumane but in a twisted way logical. Humans are trying to progress as a species and should take responsibility for it. Human test subject will also allow science and technology to advance much faster than with animal test subjects because we are trying to use animals to improve human-based technology. It is reasonable for humans to make their own sacrifices for development of their species. Human experiments are extremely dark and morbid but it’s an option that people will have to consider if they want to completely stop animal

Maybe one day technology will have advanced so far as to render animal testing unnecessary, which would be ideal, but that day is simply not today. However we must not be wanton or ruthless in our testing of animals, just as animal test subjects are necessary so are the ethical and moral policies that regulate animal testing. Scientific advancement should never rely on what is blatantly cruel and scientists should always strive to do as little harm or cause as little distress as possible to their test subjects. Animal testing can lead to great advancements in medical technology and it is our job to make sure that we take the comfort and well being of the animals being tested into account. After all, to anthropomorphize for a moment, isn’t that the least we can do for the beings who are helping us treat all the diseases we are susceptible…

Killing animals for testing has its benefits but it's still inhumane to do that to animals. It can destroy populations of animals if tested often and if every lab has its own supply of animals the populations will drop by extreme numbers. The animals that are tested on often get terrible treatment as the people testing on them know they will soon die.…

A majority of animals are derived from the same ancestors, which leads to the similarities being present and making some animals adequate test subjects. Animal testing is inhumane, but the point of animals lacking rights is true. Human lives should be put above animals when there is a known chance of the subjects dying; the humans should not be exposed to the dangers and mutations that take place in the labs. Though the animals should not have to face the problems either, human lives are more important because of the fact that a human has more significant thought processes and is capable of making moral decisions. However, if the focus was shifted to technology that didn’t rely on testing humans or animals (which is available), lives of both species could be…
