Animal Testing On Animals Research

Decent Essays
The reason why I chose this research was because I love to wear makeup but I also love animals. I’ve always had an interest in makeup ever since I first started using it. And I love animals ever since I got my first pet. I would like to find out more about animals on where they find them, how they must feel being tested on, and what do they do with the animals that have been infected when they test them. I interest in this topic because I wear makeup everyday and always wondered why they tested on animals. I have three initial questions that will guide my research: Why do companies test their products on animals? What are alternatives to animal testing? What ingredients are there in makeup that might not be safe for humans?

Testing cosmetics on animals is a very controversial issue that has grown over the past years. I believe that cosmetic animal testing is wrong and should be banned because it is cruel, inaccurate, not very reliable, and has been proven to be unnecessary. Approximately 200,000 animals will suffer and die every year for cosmetics around the world. We as a whole have all decided that this is not necessary which is why we stopped making testing on animal cosmetics something that had to be done. Companies still continue to do it.…

Cosmetic testing on animals causes more harm than good because of the unnecessary pain inflicted towards the animal, increasing costs of animal testing, and the unreliable comparison between animals and humans. In my opinion, testing cosmetic products on animals is not a necessity. No animal should have to die because of volumizing mascara or coconut scented shampoo. Products used on the skin or near the eyes should logically already be safe and should not have dangerous ingredients in them that require testing. Europe, Canada, and even China have already banned animal testing for cosmetics and refuse to purchase products that continue to test on animals.…

After studying multiple views on animal testing I have come to realize my personal view has now changed since the start of my research. Before undergoing heavy study into animal testing I believed that all types of animal testing should be stopped, but now I believe that the idea is very beneficial and should only be done when the rights of the animal are considered. In the coming years, hopefully, more regulations can be passed to ensure that all animal’s lives are protected during experimentation. Although most animals are treated with care and no pain is dealt to them when undergoing testing, it would be a lie if I stated no animals are harmed during the process. Animal testing is extremely useful in developing life-saving drugs and medicine.…
