It is ridiculous to see the amount of money companies spend to conduct these horrific tests. According to the article Animal Testing, “The National Institutes of Health, a government agency specializing in medical research, spends billions of dollars in federal money annually for its animal testing program” (Animal Testing, Issues & Controversies). Federal money? That’s right. Fellow Americans contribute unwillingly to the inadequate and sufferable conditions of the testing facilities. Animal testing is a multibillion dollar industry and because of that, completely abolishing animal testing will result in economic loss, therefore being extremely difficult to have all cosmetic companies in the United States retire from this industry.
