Relying on animal research and testing to protect and improve human health is not only unsafe, but also expensive, time-consuming, and unreliable. According to (Cruelty Free International) animal donation center, “Vioxx, a drug used to treat arthritis, was found to be safe when tested in monkeys and five other animal species, but has been estimated to have caused around 320,000 heart attacks and strokes and 140,000 deaths worldwide” This proves that animal research is unreliable and doesn't always prove the correct information, therefore animal testing is a waste of time. Money, time and animals are being wasted. Many money is thrown to waste on labs, and experiments. Maybe one day technology will have advanced so far as to render animal testing unnecessary, which would be ideal, but that day is simply not today. However we must not be wanton or ruthless in our testing of animals, just as animal test subjects are necessary so are the ethical and moral policies that regulate animal testing. Scientific advancement should never rely on what is blatantly cruel and scientists should always strive to do as little harm or cause as little distress as possible to their test subjects. Animal testing can lead to great advancements in medical technology and it is our job to make sure that we take the comfort and well being of the animals being tested into account. After all, to anthropomorphize for a moment, isn’t that the least we can do for the beings who are helping us treat all the diseases we are susceptible…

Although some people may think that animal testing is healthy and beneficial to humans, I believe that animal testing is unethical and utterly wrong because of the unfair repulsive treatment that animals receive from scientists. This topic is important because the world we live in is as much an animal 's world as it is a human’s world and right now humans are discriminating and enslaving…
