Everyday millions and millions mice, rats, rabbits, cats, dogs, and other animals are caged in professional and powerful laboratories and suffered different types testing. They languish in ache and wait for dead and free. Animal testing is a method that has been using for thousands years, scientists use it for developing medical treatments, determining the toxicity of medications, and check the safety of products for us. While our counties’ economy get better, more people concern about animals’ right. We cannot erase all the benefit we get from animal testing; we come out many cures and treatments to a variety of illnesses and diseases have been discovered based on animal testing. Famous science researcher MacLennan (1990) stated, “There is no doubt that the best test species for humans are humans. It is not possible to extrapolate animal data directly to humans due to interspecies variation in anatomy, physiology and biochemistry”. In this case, I think animal testing is cruel and inhumane, people should ban animal testing. Furthermore, I also believe scientists will found out many alternative methods available to take the place of animal testing very soon.
Many people thought the animals which we used for testing are well treated, but in fact the most animals used in testing and research are not protected by the Animal Welfare Act (AWA).
