Throughout history, animals were either pets or food for people, but then animal testing came along and it changed the life of animals and humans. In 1938, the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FDCA) was created to make sure that products that were to be on the market were safe. As a result, from the FDCA, animals were used for testing to assure that products were reliable for humans (Zurlo 2012).
