While the Federal food, drug, and cosmetic act requires animal testing for pharmaceutical drugs and other chemical compounds that change the structure and the function of the human body it does not specifically require animal testing on cosmetics(Cosmetics). Animals including rats, mice, guinea pigs, and rabbits are put through painful tests that can take weeks and even months. Animals should not be subjected to any cosmetic testing the pain and the suffering of the animals, the living conditions of the animals, and they are unnecessary. There are an estimated of 2 to 4,000,000 animals that include cats,dogs, rodents, monkeys ,and other animals(Animals And Products). They are maliciously tortured in the laboratories each year in the U.S and other countries. These tests usually cause the animal some damage and in functional. Cosmetic scientists also inject into the spinal cord and intentionally paralyze the animal to undo all the damage that has been done to the animal. Animal testing is unnecessary alternatives to testing and not making animals suffer. Alternatives such as testing on artificial skin and also the use of human blood. Scientists would better generate data context and greater number of chemicals more quickly and cheaply(animals). Some companies can also avoid testing altogether by using non-toxic natural ingredients or those that have already been safety-approved by the Cosmetics, Toiletry and Fragrance Association.
