Nowadays, the number of brands selling cosmetic products, typically defined as products that are intended to be applied or used by the human body for the purposes of cleansing or beautification, are increasing in number due to the increase in demands as more consumers are buying cosmetic products. However, not all consumers are aware that animals are used to test the products that they use to ensure effectiveness and safety when used by consumers. In many parts of the world, there are a lot of animals who are suffering and dying inside laboratories just to test the cosmetics. Different degrees of pain are experienced by these animals in order for companies to develop new products for the consumer. This is due to the fact that the scientific community is in favor of animal testing as they consider humans as superior to animal life. This is also to reduce human suffering and to save human life as they would not be used for product testing. Animal testing for cosmetics began in response to the issue regarding the negative effects experienced by people who were exposed to unsafe cosmetic products. The problem with the practice of animal testing is how it is conducted and how it affects the animals involved in the testing.
