Animal Testing Argumentative Essay

Argumentative Essay.
Should animals be used for research? Using animals for testing is extremely cruel, animals deserve rights, and it should be illegal. They don’t deserve to be lab rats, to be tested on whenever people feel the need. The use of animals for testing should be illegal. Why is animal testing cruel? What if you were in a dark hole with no say in anything you do, and you were experimented on whenever the need was felt? That wouldn’t be well at all. Animals are often shocked, burned, poisoned, starved, drowned along with many other twisted events that happen to them. The law says nothing about it being necessary to operate on animals. Is all the testing necessary? Honestly the law doesn’t even permit animals use, but it’s done anyways. Why would anyone want to take the life of a helpless creature? They can cause serious harm to the animal, often resulting in death.

Some people think these actions are necessary but just because the testing performed on animals works on them, doesn’t at all mean that it will work on humans. Lets think about this realistically, what if you were the one who was being tested on, would it be morally correct then? People may think that it’s okay, until it’s them in the animal's position. So let's think twice and take everything into consideration. Using an animal is inhumane. They can’t talk nor decide things for themselves. Yes, maybe using animals can further help them learn more about biology and health, and also for developing new medicines. They literally breed animals and raise them for their own gain. The only use of animals for testing should be animals that have already past away. Also they should first have permission to experiment on that animal, If they are terribly in need, they could collect animals that have been hit by vehicles. Though we are born to live and all live to die, killing them is just

Maybe one day technology will have advanced so far as to render animal testing unnecessary, which would be ideal, but that day is simply not today. However we must not be wanton or ruthless in our testing of animals, just as animal test subjects are necessary so are the ethical and moral policies that regulate animal testing. Scientific advancement should never rely on what is blatantly cruel and scientists should always strive to do as little harm or cause as little distress as possible to their test subjects. Animal testing can lead to great advancements in medical technology and it is our job to make sure that we take the comfort and well being of the animals being tested into account. After all, to anthropomorphize for a moment, isn’t that the least we can do for the beings who are helping us treat all the diseases we are susceptible…

As stated by Professor Charles R Magel,“Ask the experimenters why they test on animals and the answer is: ‘Because animals are like us’. Ask the experimenters why it is morally okay to experiment on animals and the answer is ‘Because the animals are not like us’. Animal experimentation rests on a logical contradiction” (Source #4). Scientists believe that animals are more similar to us in body anatomy and biology than personality. However, they’re more like us human in a sense of consciousness rather than body.…

Testing on animals is also a lot more expensive and non-practical than alternative methods. (Animals In). “Some people, including some scientists object to the practice strictly on ethical and moral grounds, refuting or rejecting any scientific evidence that animal testing is helpful to humans.” (Judson 12). However, groups opposing the cruel treatment of animals were influential in getting regulations passed to protect welfare of animals.…

Animals are there for people to enjoy and have fun with. They come in many different shapes, sizes, and types. Yet not all animals are not treated by the same standards as other animals. Animal testing is wrong because of the effects it has on the animals such as the harmful side effects, the reduction of life expectancy, and the lasting effects it has on the animal. Most of the time the test subjects are harmed in some way.…

The testing on animals is a very touchy subject. It makes people wonder whether or not its cruel to advance technology by killing innocent animals. Killing animals for testing has its benefits but it's still inhumane to do that to animals. It can destroy populations of animals if tested often and if every lab has its own supply of animals the populations will drop by extreme numbers. The animals that are tested on often get terrible treatment as the people testing on them know they will soon die.…

Animal testing is cruel and inhumane. These animals are subjected to forced feeding, forced inhalation, food and water deprivation, prolonged periods of physical restraint, infliction of burns and wounds to study the healing process and effects and remedies. Among the cruelest experiments is the Draize eye test which evaluates irritation by shampoos and other products to the eyes. During this experiment rabbits are restrained and their eyelids are held open by clips for multiple days which leads to the death of 50% of rabbits used (Scientific American, "Do Cosmetic Companies Still Test on Live Animals?," scientificamerican.com). We also are very different from animals; having different metabolic, anatomical, and cellular differences.…

In the article, Medical Testing on Animals is Cruel and Unnecessary, PETA said,”Even animals who are covered by the law can be burned, shocked, poisoned, isolated, starved, forcibly restrained, addicted to drugs, and brain-damaged-no procedures or experiments, regardless of how trivial or painful they may be, are prohibited by law.” Animals in experiments are not thought of as living beings that think and feel like we do, they are thought of as lab equipment that can be manipulated and thrown away at any time. Even though laws and welfare acts have been put in place to protect and care for animals being tested on, nothing can stop a scientist from performing a cruel experiment if they say it is in the name of science. Moreover, in the article, Animal Experimentation is Unnecessary, Sarah Rose A. Miller said,”If the animals are in a state of extreme distress from being trapped in tiny cages their whole lives with no stimuli and no room to move around, it can induce their various bodily systems to behave differently.” The animals are kept in filthy, barren cages, are socially deprived, and the only change in their day to day activity is when a scientist comes to take them for a new painful…

767,622 different types of animals were used in 2015, and even more in 2016. AAVS reported their annual statistics showing over the years how many animals have been used, and how much they have to suffer due to scientists using them. Animals shouldn’t be put through this kind of conditions, so they shouldn’t be used for scientific testing, because it’s inhumane, it leads to nowhere, and it’s not even accurate. First of all, animals go through very harsh testing, and barely survive. They get inflicted with burns, decapitated, and sometimes even get deprived of food and water for many days.…

Few examples exist that truly show how cruel people can be, and animal testing is high on the list. Imagine a beloved animal, caged in stainless steel, shaking, being analyzed for the effects of a new ingredient in a beauty product. Millions are drawn to protest the tests conducted for vanity, and some countries have already placed laws in action to ban the practice. The fight continues in the U.S. for the welfare of animals that are still undergoing vile tests so that people can have cosmetic products. The cry for justice grows louder as new technology allows far more accurate testing to be conducted, without ever involving innocent animals that will live out their lives and likely die in the laboratories, often as a result of the tests.…

My opinion matters and so does yours! I think that animal testing is wrong and cruel and unhealthy for these animals to go through, some of these tests and researches cause pain and can even lead to death for some of these animals. These animals are being tortured, there are many different tests that these animals go through every day that cause them to suffer. Why would you even test an animal, If they will most likely not have the same reaction to the product, the medicine, or the disease. They won't have the same reaction because our immune systems are different, even our skin is different, so why put them through these test that harm these poor animals.…

Though I concede that in some situations, animal testing may be useful, such as in immensely important medical studies, I still maintain that it is unnecessary to make an animal suffer and be discriminated against. Although some people may think that animal testing is healthy and beneficial to humans, I believe that animal testing is unethical and utterly wrong because of the unfair repulsive treatment that animals receive from scientists. This topic is important because the world we live in is as much an animal 's world as it is a human’s world and right now humans are discriminating and enslaving…
