“The term "animal testing" refers to procedures performed on living animals for purposes of research into basic biology and diseases, assessing the effectiveness of new medicinal products, and testing the human health and/or environmental safety of consumer and industry products such as cosmetics, household cleaners, food additives, pharmaceuticals and industrial/agro-chemicals” (HSI Organization). Many of the products that people use today have been tested in some way or form. Many of the products used in everyone 's have been test on animals to make sure it is safe to be used on humans. Products like toothpaste, hair sprays, make-up, and cleaning supplies of been test on animals to make sure they are safe for the customers of companies like Avon, Covergirl, Head & Shoulders, Aquafresh, Dove, Old Spice, Febreze, Clorox, and Tide. All of these companies are test to make sure that there products are safe for humans, but cultures all over the world have different views on the subject.
A study was done by Taylor K., Gordon N., Langley G., and Higgins W. in 2014 showing about how many experiments was performed on animals in 2005 and 2012 in the 8 largest countries. The data was compared and a percentage was found if the country increased or decreased. These are about the amount of experiments done in 2005 and 2012 in each country.
