In 1970 over 5.5 million animals were used for experiments and they provided great benefits for humans. In the 19th century a scientist names Francios Magendie led notable advances in neurophysiology. All his experiments carried out without anesthesia during his experiments ("Animal Experimentation"). This shows that even though the united states are using 100 million animals each year. Animal experiments benefits humans with new cures and new treatments. A large expansion reflected a growing medical field. Vitamins, hormones, polo vaccines, cancer treatment, modern advances in immunology, and surgical

No right to use animals as disable objects. Animal testing violates animal basic rights, and experiments conducting on them, scientists and researchers should let animals live in peace ("Animal Testing"). This shows that even though animal testing saves human, the animals can feel the pain and suffering and they don’t want to be tested on. 25 million mammals are used in the United States for research. Rodents, rats, and mice, make up 90% of animal testing. Cats and Dogs 2% and nonhuman primates 1% ("Rose"). This shows that even the animals that we love and keep as pets are take used as animal testing. Millions of animals are used each year for animal testing. As you walk into a laboratory, you can see the rows of cages holding animals. Their bodies are burned, scarred, and blood pouring of their noses ("Animal Testing"). Animals experimentations have been used for years to know if chemicals are safe for human use; some people say it's right to use animals because they don't feel pain like humans do, but other people say it's cruel and can be replaced by more humane practices. This shows how animals are treated, not good, some people care about animals lives. Since the 1800s and 1900s animal testing was right, finding out new technology. Now in present day there's more argues about it, killing about 100 million animals each year and spending 12 billion to 14.5 billion each year for animal experiments. The good things about animal testing, it's saving human lives and giving new knowledge and more information about cures and treatments for humans. Animal testing helps human survive, but when one person survives that's killing another animal, the more we save the les animals there going to be and there's species are going to be extinct. How many animals are going be killed to know there's going to be no more animals to test on, how many animal are going to be used until they go

Roughly twenty-six million animals are used for different types of testing in the United States every year (Animal Testing - Procon.org). These tests range from developing medical treatments, determining the toxicity of medications, checking the safety of products that will be used by humans, to healthcare and commercial uses (Animal Testing - Procon.org). Proponents to animal research and testing back their views up with the fact that there are laws in place to prevent the mistreatment of animals, such as the Animal Welfare Act (AWA) (Animal Testing - Procon.org). The Animal Welfare Act defines an animal as, “any live or dead dog, cat, monkey, guinea pig, hamster, rabbit, or such other warm blooded animal.” (Animal Testing - Procon.org).…

Malachi Fox Kristy Wooten English 112 – 802 October 15, 2016 Animal Testing: An Annotated Bibliography While browsing Youtube one day, I came across a video from “Veritasium” about research being done in Switzerland to help paralyzed rats walk again. They would intentionally cut the rat’s spine to prevent brain signals from reaching the legs and then try to get them to walk again. The researchers discovered that the nerves in the rat’s spine could heal themselves if the rat was motivated to walk again. Tasty pastries from nearby shops were a common means of motivation.…

This source provides an in-depth history of animal experimentation during the 1900's and explains the benefits it has brought to society as well as the views of who oppose it because it is culturally unacceptable. The first recorded animal experimentation was for the study of body humors in the third century. These studies were used for medicine, blood circulation, and even the study of nerves, all of which occurred in periods like the Renaissance. Originally, research was conducted on animals because scientists believe they were incapable of feeling pain. By the nineteenth century, people began to consider the humane and civilized treatment of animals and conflict arose.…

Nevertheless, with animal testing we are killing over 100 million animals every year. We are also killing over 22,000 cats every year, cats are also known as one of the most kindest animals. Even though people think that we are saving human lives by risking animals lives.…

Professor Robert Winston said recently: "Scientific and medical research is a drawn-out process and the contribution of animal research is frequently overlooked by the time successful therapy reaches patients. We live longer and healthier lives than ever before. Whilst there have been remarkable improvements in the human environment, animal research has played a major part in developing improvements in human health. Animal research advanced the treatment of infections, helped with immunisation, improved cancer treatment and has had a major impact on managing heart disease, brain disorders, arthritis and…

Along with being inaccurate animal testing kills animals and is proven unreliable. In 2010, the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) reported that 97,123 animals suffered pain during experiments and are not given any anesthesia for pain relief. These tests included 1,395 primates, 5,996 rabbits, 33,652 guinea pigs, and 48,015 hamsters (Animal Testing Pro & Con.) Other testing methods have proven to be Oliveira 4 more humane, faster, cheaper, and more relevant to humans (Animal Testing 101.) Animals suffer extreme frustration, loneliness, and long to be free.…

Research is accountable for all intents and purposes of medical breakthroughs there have been. Medicines, cures, vaccines and other treatments are all mostly possible because of animal experimentation research. Essentially nearly everybody alive has profited from the restorative advances made practical through animal testing. Galton, the founder of experimental psychology, used animals such as pigs and apes to conduct his experiments. Animal research became more organized and a huge part of science during the early 19th century.…

Animal testing has been a part of our society since the early 1900s. And it appears to me, that not until around 40 years ago or so, people began to realize that testing animals was inhumane on many different levels. But because we are the human beings that we are, we still try to shy away from a lot of the negative consequences of animal testing. It is easier for us to push aside that which is bad and try only to look at the positive aspects. Yet, in my opinion, the cons outweigh the pros.…

Why Animal Testing Should Be Banned Everyday innocent animals are being forced into labs and tested for human research advancement. Cruelty Free International states how approximately 115 million animals, including rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, mice, dogs and monkeys are used in dangerous laboratory experiments every year. In fact, many of the experiments are said to be useless tests, as stated, “The reality is that the majority of animal experiments do not contribute to improving human health, and the value of the role that animal experimentation plays in most medical advances is questionable” (“Animal Testing is Bad Science”). Misconceptions by the media may stretch the idea how animal testing can cure diseases, illnesses etc.. But actually, as emphasized, animal testing is an inefficient way of finding medical advances, making the procedures to be unnecessary and making there be no reason to force animals into labs without a choice, it's blatantly a waste of animals lives.…

After studying multiple views on animal testing I have come to realize my personal view has now changed since the start of my research. Before undergoing heavy study into animal testing I believed that all types of animal testing should be stopped, but now I believe that the idea is very beneficial and should only be done when the rights of the animal are considered. In the coming years, hopefully, more regulations can be passed to ensure that all animal’s lives are protected during experimentation. Although most animals are treated with care and no pain is dealt to them when undergoing testing, it would be a lie if I stated no animals are harmed during the process. Animal testing is extremely useful in developing life-saving drugs and medicine.…
