The number one animal that is tested on for research is the guinea pig, with a close second being rabbits. Many other animals are used for research, in total there is about 1,134,693 animals that are tested on yearly. There has been many advances in medicine over the years except for the fact that animals are still used as testing subjects. Animal testing is a very unethical and terrible thing to do on another living creature. Animals are suppose to obtain love and happiness from humans, but instead scientists are using them for research and are treating them terribly. Some scientists say when testing on an animal for a human 's sake, it needs to mirror the human as much as possible.
