Animal Research Persuasive Speech

Have you ever looked at you make-up and wondered how people knew it wouldn’t hurt your skin. Or when you get a shot, how people knew it would help you and not harm you. Well, you can thank animals for that. Animals are the ones that get tested for your make-up, flu shots, sunscreen and so much more. But after you read that, don’t say “oh my gosh, I am never going to get a flu shot again or wear makeup again.” because they get relieved of their pain if doesn’t go as planned. They also get housed and they hardly ever die. They will be okay. That’s why animals should be used for medical/ product research.

But, we can’t stop. There are new disease’s growing all around us and we still never found a cure for cancer “More than 1.5 million cases of cancer were diagnosed in the U.S. alone” (Mulder). Also, with all of the research going well researchers shouldn’t have to stop because they are going farther than they ever thought they could, for example “Scientists can alter an animal’s genes to make that animal develop a certain disease” (Animal research). They mostly use rats and mice because “They are a big part of experimental research” (Mulder). So, that must be relieving to know that your pet is safe, since they mostly use rats and mice.
For the cosmetic industry you should be relieved to hear that “...they do not require animal testing” (Is animal testing). Although, if they did “ The law… requires researchers to ensure animal pain and distress are minimized” (Is animal testing). Also, ‘Less than 1% of animals in medical research comprise cats, dogs, or non-humans” (George and Wagner). These are all of the reasons that some are not very much upset with animal
