Intrude There are many problems we have in this world. One that we don’t think about is poaching. Poaching is basically hunting, killing, taking or capturing wildlife illegally from its habitat. A poacher will kill animals out of season or kill the endangered animals for a profit and doesn’t care about the effect that is left. It happens way too much, it is done all around the world. Even here in the United States, but what separates us from some other countries is we have DNRs’ and the animals here are not as valuable as a rhino or elephant. In Africa the rhino and elephant are in danger, they are being killed for their horn, or tusk because the ivory is very valuable. With all the poachers out there killing animals when they are not …show more content…
We have to think about the little things like poachers. The little things add up and they should not be overlooked. So we need to put a stop to it before it gets to out of hand where there is no coming back. No one ever thinks about the rash choices they make but animals need to be seen as money, because when you are out, you are out and there is nothing you can do about it. Money is what makes things possible, and that applies to animals. They serve a sole purpose in this world otherwise they would not exist. If we make them nonexistent, then we will see a change in the environment. We don’t want to be that rich person who only cares about them self. We can hunt certain things to a certain point but we need to know our limitations. I know everyone won’t turn down money, but there is a point where you have too much and other people could use it. The same applies to hunting, the more animals you kill, that you are not allowed, affects others chances of getting killing an animal like a deer. It seems, no matter what you do it is never enough, to get ahead of the curve, I feel shortcuts are needed but then you will do that more often and ruin it for the rest. For the other animals that are protected, we need to be need to be more humane and civilized. In Africa, some of the poachers are doing it because they are hungry and need the money so we need to create a system that will give them a good income and are able to put food on the table. With all the poachers out there killing animals when they are not suppose too, one has to ask what really was the difference between hunting and poaching, what has this shown us, and how can we conquer this problem, to put things right? “The World Wildlife Foundation has supplied Kenya with scanners and more than 1,000 microchips to implant into rhinoceros' horns. Kenyan officials hope the chips will help trace poached horns and deter

Alessandra Potenza, a writer for New York Times Upfront magazine, sheds light onto the seriousness of Poachers. Poachers, also known as “Trophy Hunters”, are causing the endangered species problem to become worse, specifically African wildlife. Every year 600 lions are killed by Trophy Hunters (column in the middle of pg. 11). An example of this happening is with Cecil (a lion, also a popular tourist attraction) didn’t attack the Trophy Hunters when they shot him with a crossbow but instead ran away; the Trophy Hunters tracked him down and killed 2 days later. (Paragraph 1 and 2, pg. 10)…

Without big game hunting, there would be an overpopulation of animals, such as the deer. Steve West claims, “Hunters are realists who understand that an exotic or endangered animal is more likely to be protected from extinction if they are assigned a financial value”(Article 1).This shows that hunters actually control the population by putting a price on the head of the animal. This further prohibits anyone and everyone from hunting the endangered animals. Some may argue that big game trophy hunting kills more animals than it saves, however with the financial…

It’s counterintuitive, but banning the practice would mean the systematic slaughter of wildlife, trampling of unique ecosystems, and possible extinction of rare species. Sacrificing a quota of lions to hunters keep many other alive(Anderson and Downey).Basically, pro-hunters, believe that it is good for the ecosystem to kill these certain animals such as lions or elephants. It does not fit "clean" into the different traditional groups, or labeling, often used to describe crimes. groups such as those against people or property crimes. wildlife crimes are sometimes thought about/believed to be victimless because an (able to be seen or picked out) hurt party or victim, at least in the form of a human being, is not present or filing a complaint. However, it has been argued that in the case of wildlife crime, like other victimless crime, (community of people/all good people in the world) is the true victim because these criminal acts lead to harm to, if not the complete destruction of, whole species of animals and plants, by that/in that way affecting hunters, nature (people…
