Animal Persuasive Essay

Animals mean a lot more to humans, than humans mean to humans. According to the American Veterinary Medical Association sourcebook in 2012, studies show about 62% of American households have a pet, which they do consider a member of the family. This holds a lot of truth. When watching a movie, one does not feel empathy when witnessing a human being shot and killed. But, the moment an animal of some sorts gets shot and killed, the teardrops start flowing.
Experimenting on innocent creatures is completely horrific. According to the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, otherwise known as PETA, in the U.S alone, over 1.04 million animals were used for scientific experimentation in 2013. That number did not include mice or rats or reptiles, or amphibians. If those animals contributed to the number, it's estimated to be well over one hundred million animals, according to the PETA. You see, the feelings humans have towards humans are completely different than the feelings humans have towards animals. We care deeply for the well being of animals. But why is that? As a human race, humans care more for the innocent creatures. Innocent, meaning animals who have no say in what gets done to them. Which is why the experimentation on animals is completely wrong.

Us humans take tremendous advantage of that. We decide their every move since they literally have no way to communicate, or resist anything humans do. Animals are used in many ways of experimentation. Those being for education, government, science, cosmetics and household items. If you were to think of it, experimentation on animals is so selfish. The human race is so curious for new findings, yet we do not want to sacrifice one of their own for advancements in science. We’d much rather use poor innocent animals who have no voice for our own benefits.
Arguers for the use of animals in experiments claim using animals for experimentation is completely right because “ animals are essential in scientific research, for developing medicines and safety testing.”. This is true but there are many other ways for coming up with new experiments not using animals. Scientists claim that they will be too “costly” and too time consuming, but in reality they need to stop being so lazy. There are millions of prisoners across the nation. One ninth of them serving lifetime sentences without parole. Instead of having their lives wasted why not put these inmates to good use, scientific advancement. Using these prisoners would not only help regulate amount of prisoners in prisons nationwide, but also help ensure the results from these experiments will be true due to using real human

If it is okay to treat animals like they don’t feel anything, then why is it that humans are not the ones being tested on? There are plenty of bad apple humans that can surely be tested on for experimentation. It seems as though scientists and researchers value human lives over the lives of animals. This is unacceptable as all lives matter and should all be treated fairly! The rhesus monkeys that underwent experimentation for love were un-cared for.…

As stated by Professor Charles R Magel,“Ask the experimenters why they test on animals and the answer is: ‘Because animals are like us’. Ask the experimenters why it is morally okay to experiment on animals and the answer is ‘Because the animals are not like us’. Animal experimentation rests on a logical contradiction” (Source #4). Scientists believe that animals are more similar to us in body anatomy and biology than personality. However, they’re more like us human in a sense of consciousness rather than body.…

“Approximately 100,000-200,000 animals suffer and die just for cosmetics every year around the world,” said Michael Sharp, a writer for the All Animals magazine (Sharp). Animal testing should be illegal. Everyone should take part in the petition to ban animal testing. Animal Testing is cruel, there are better alternatives, and it’s impractical. The illegalization of animal testing would be beneficial to the welfare of animals around the world.…

For many years, animals have been used for medical, psychological, and cosmetic research to give humans deep insight into these topics of interest. Although animal experimentation was intended to help human welfare, it sparked controversy between animal rights activists who were opposed to it, and scientists and researchers who believed that animal experimentation was necessary to help mankind. Opponents of animal experimentation believed that animals were being treated inhumanely and cruelly, and scientists and researchers believed that animal experimentation would lead to new medicines, vaccines, and a cure for diseases.…

Animal Experimentation Animal experimentation has been around for many centuries. Humans perform these experiments on all species of animals to find different effect of a product it could have on a human. Three advantages in particular advantages are, it helps scientists gain a better understanding for cures of different diseases, this practice makes a vital advance in medicine, and for the expense of treatments and cures animals should not have rights when it comes to research. Although there are many advantages to animal experimentation, there are also disadvantages which include, there is no benefit for the humans, it is cruel, and is dangerous for humans to be treated only after a trial on animals. The first advantage to animal experimentation is using animals like rats can help the scientist gain better knowledge for different…

Animal experimentation Humans depend on controversy to obtain an ominous view of all the facts to make an educated decision. While many humans can never unanimously agree on a whole heartedly ethically inclined decision, it can help create progress especially in cases of animal cruelty. Although many people are against animal cruelty, the controversy is dictated to people’s opinions on whether animal experimentation is more helpful or more harmful. Animal experimentation is incredibly controversial, many people believe animals are suffering just so humans can test medications and other products on them.…

Animal testing has been a part of our society since the early 1900s. And it appears to me, that not until around 40 years ago or so, people began to realize that testing animals was inhumane on many different levels. But because we are the human beings that we are, we still try to shy away from a lot of the negative consequences of animal testing. It is easier for us to push aside that which is bad and try only to look at the positive aspects. Yet, in my opinion, the cons outweigh the pros.…
