Yelena Alexandrovna Dubrosky, a new assistant for dog training sessions, was one of the main characters in the story. As her first day of work, she got to meet all the dogs, but for some reason she fell in love with Kudryavka. But when she found out that he was the one chosen to be taken to space for a test, she was depressed. “He’s picked her, hasn't he?” Oleg Davenko replies, “I tried to get her taken out of the shortlist.” Her expression in the rest of the story is a sad and depressed. She is against sending Kudrayavka into space, but due to the commitment to her job, she is left with no words.

People might argue that how else would you have found if humans could survive in space? But the truth is that although animals cannot talk or respond doesn't mean that they are models for us to test. Sacrificing animals is not the right thing to do because it risks the life of many animals which leaves them endangered. Was it right for Russia to do that? No, because they wanted a name just for their own purposes and wanted to be known across the world and inventors. If they wanted to send a animal into space and receive a nice result, they should also have found a way to bring the dog down. Why didn't they do that? Because they didn't care for the tiny creature. They shouldn't have received their fame because there were other ways to find out if a man could go to space rather than risking the life of many
