The Evolution of Animal Genitalia; Sex Style
Genitals are the fastest evolving organs in the animal kingdom. Rapid and divergent evolution of male genitalia represents one of the most general evolutionary patterns in animals with internal fertilization. In fact, in recent studies, it has been revealed that male genitalia evolve six times faster than limbs or dewlaps, (a fold of loose skin hanging from the neck or throat of an animal, especially that present in many cattle) explaining the large diversity seen in lizards hemipenes. Males using their penises for courtship and females controlling their own sperm body management are two reasons why genitalia evolve into such a complex shape. According to Menno Schilthuizen, a Dutch evolutionary

Tragelaphus angasii (Nyala) of the Bovidae family, known and familiar to southern Africa, can be observed and studied for the size of its elaborate, slightly twisted horns. This trait can be seen as an adaptative trait due to the variety of horn lengths and sizes in Bovids, as well as a heritable trait, due to the continual frequency in horns throughout generations, in the species of Nyala. The adaptivity and heritability of this trait can be analyzed through the natural history of the species of Bovids, observing how horns are used in combat as a sign of defense to other males of their same species (Lundrigan 1996). What is currently known on this species is how different lengths of horns are used in different forms of combat (Lundrigan 1996),…

Scientists have long theorized that the long neck of modern-day giraffes evolved to enable them to find more vegetation or to develop a specialized method of fighting. A new study of fossil cervical vertebrae reveals the evolution likely occurred in several stages as one of the animal's neck vertebrae stretched first toward the head and then toward the tail a few million years later. The study's authors say the research shows, for the first time, the specifics of the evolutionary transformation in extinct species within the giraffe family. "It's interesting to note that the lengthening was not consistent," said Nikos Solounias, a giraffe anatomy expert and paleontologist at NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine.…

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) should be disbanded because they are hypocrites; they have problems with themselves, pets, people who make internet videos that are clearly fake and just about anything they can turn into propaganda. PETA is deranged, their website, themselves, the propaganda they spread. All of it is deranged. Before I go on to mention the stronger of PETA’s propaganda and lies I want to mention a YouTuber named Oicthatu812 he make a video that had a cat paw a tooth brush. This source provides an in-depth history of animal experimentation during the 1900's and explains the benefits it has brought to society as well as the views of who oppose it because it is culturally unacceptable. The first recorded animal experimentation was for the study of body humors in the third century. These studies were used for medicine, blood circulation, and even the study of nerves, all of which occurred in periods like the Renaissance. Originally, research was conducted on animals because scientists believe they were incapable of feeling pain. By the nineteenth century, people began to consider the humane and civilized treatment of animals and conflict arose.…

Intro Modern human evolution has changed dramatically over thousands even millions of years. Recently, researchers have identified a newly proven ancestor to modern humans whom are Neanderthals. Looking at archaic DNA and comparing it with non-African modern human DNA, it is clear to see that we share a great deal of common genetic information with Neanderthals than researchers first thought. With extensive research, researchers and scientists have been able to pinpoint genetic differences and similarities between these two species. History About 155,000 years ago, the Homo sapien has arisen from previous ancestors such as the archaic H. sapien and H. erectus (Rodrigues, 2012).…

The ethical treatment of animals should be taken more seriously because of the cruelty suffered by animals at amusement events, factories and in the research field. Animals ethics is a term to describe the way the human reacts with the animal and how the animal should properly be treated. Many philosophers believe that since animals doesn’t have the moral judgement that humans have, then anyone can do whatever they want to do them because they don’t know right from wrong. An animal is very important, the animal will know if what is happening to them is normal or not, many things people do to them wouldn’t be something they experience on a daily basis. Animals doesn't deserve to be treated any differently than humans.…
