The Battle of Cowshed was chosen for the timeline event because of the great importance that it contributed to the unification of the Animal Farm against a common enemy, mankind. This first battle foreshadowed the dark future of a national war because of the spread of propaganda of the Rebellion, The Beasts of England song, early characteristics of fascism and totalitarianism. The Battle of Cowshed also started showing inequality clearer by creating military rankings for individuals and giving the pigs more dictatorial power over the farm.
