What is a CAFO? Well that’s a simple question really; it’s short for Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations. It is the act of keeping animals in a confined area so that there is no risk of escaping and how “farmers” can maximize their land without having to pay more money. With the treatment of these animals so poorly, farmers are able to saved money and sell big with the small amounts of care given to the livestock . The animals are only able to get food from the handlers and can’t go out of their pens by themselves, this means they see no sunlight.…

In George Orwell’s novel, Animal Farm, he proves that it is inevitable for humans to equate everyone. Orwell explains this by his story which is about a group of farm animals that rebel against their farmer. After he gets kicked out, Napoleon, a pig, takes power and corrupts the farm. His power gets to the point where they were better off with the farmer, Mr. Jones. Orwell also illustrates how it is human nature to make mistakes and take control of power.…

Adlai E. Stevenson once said “... the truth is often unpopular…” In other words, the truth is often either untold or bent. In this quote, Stevenson is trying to convey that telling the truth is not always the choice that people choose to make. They always try to bend the truth for themselves so that their sense of dignity and pride would not fade away. It shows that being dishonest is more likely to occur than being truthful.…

In Animal Farm, the prevailing ideology that controls the farm is the philosophy of Animalism. The seeds of Animalism were planted in the minds of the pigs after Old Major’s rebellion-inciting speech at the beginning of the story. Napoleon and a few of the other pigs then crafted the philosophy of Animalism as it exists throughout most of the story. Eventually, the pigs simplify the philosophy into seven rules, called the Seven Commandments. The Seven Commandments include important truths such as “Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy”…

I believe the pigs were to blame for the dystopian characteristics on Animal Farm, because the pigs persuaded the animals to believe them using fear and made up statistics, because they used the weaker animals to distract the other animals, and because they used the trust the animals had in them to take advantage of them. Squealer, the propaganda expert in the novel Animal Farm, would do anything to get the other animals to believe that the farm was fine and dandy, Napoleon was always right, and there was simply nothing to worry about. He would make up statistics, use the fear of Mr. Jones or Snowball coming back, or even get the sheep to start bleating, “Four legs good, two legs bad!” until the end of time.…

In the last paragraph of Animal Farm by George Orwell, it is depicted that the animals are finally beginning to see modifications within the pigs’ attitudes and what they have transformed into physically and mentally. As loud cries of cheer flooded the farm, the animals’ attention had been piqued and they swiftly rushed up to the dining room window. Taking a small glance into the glass pane of the window, what they saw had shocked them, yet had confused them at the same time. They had noticed that there was a significant change on the faces of the pigs. Although, as they gazed at the pigs, they were uncertain as to what it was that had seemed to be changing.…
