Animal Farm Movie And Book Similarities

George Orwell wrote a novel titled, Animal Farm that explains a story about a group of animals that rebel against their owner and begin their own farm society. Many years after the novel was published, they released a movie to go along with Orwell’s image of the society the farm animals have created. The novel and movie share many similarities and differences. The novel and the book both share a law where all animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others. This law wasn’t enforced until the end of the novel and movie when the pigs began to become extremely powerful over the other animals. The novel and the movie are also similar, because they both follow the same plot. In order to make the movie, they needed to follow the same plot. Just because Old Major dies, does not exactly mean the same thing. In the novel, Old Major dies days after he gives his speech to the other animals about the rebellion against the humans that he wants to go underway. On the other hand, Old Major in the movie, dies during his speech when he gets shot by the owner of the farm. The movie also left out multiple characters, Mollie, Clover, and Mr. Whymper. Without these character in the movie, the viewer can easily detect that the director of the movie thought that these characters have no significance in the story. In addition to these differences, the novel was narrated by a narrator, where the movie wasn’t. Throughout the movie, Jesse occasionally would narrate but not as much as the narration showed up in the novel. The novel presented Napoleon as a evil character, where the movie does it in your face with villain music and giving Napoleon a mean look.
