The more power you have, the more you think you can get away with things you do, as you don’t have somebody who can advise you on what is wrong or right. When someone is given too much power, a dictatorship type of government forms, where all decisions are being made by one authority. In the book "Animal Farm" by George Orwell, the quote "Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely" is portrayed perfectly.
