Though scientists stated, and still do today, that the experiments were performed with anaesthesia, the majority of them were carried out without any. In 2005, a study completed in England showed that 7,000 out of 8,000 vivisection procedures were completed without any anesthesia. Labs kept animals alive for as long as possible no matter what procedures they were put through in the name of science. As long as the animals were breathing, they were deemed okay to continue on with procedures. This has been proven by undercover investigations. A test where animals were given anti anxiety medication showed results of anxiety than those who were not given medication. These results discredit those who say that animals do not feel emotions like animals do.
Animal data from testing has proven to be inconsistent and this has cost millions of dollars. A study on monkeys for the polio virus mislead doctors to believe that polio started in the respiratory system when in fact it started in the digestive tract. Similarly, mice which in fact are proven to be poor models are still used to test on. Animals have a different gene makeup than humans and yet they are used to treat diseases that affect
