Animal Cruelty in the United States

According to LiveKindly, “The United States has been ranked as the second-worst nation in the world for animal cruelty.” The U.S. sees the slaughter of 28.4 animals per person, every year. LiveKindly points out that this figure is triple that of the world average, which is 9.7 animals. These high numbers happen for a few different reasons.
The National Humane Society claims that the most abuse takes place with dogs, cats, horses and cows. The reason horses and cows are on this list is because of farm abuse. Abuse of farm animals happens a lot but it is harder to get people in trouble because laws don’t protect farm animals as much as they do for dogs and cats.
