There are many ways animals are mistreated in factory farms. For instance, some workers do not successfully sedate cows and pigs so the animal struggles as they are hung upside down and have their throats sliced. According to the article, in 2002 Florida voters passed a ballot initiative which prohibited the use of gestation crates for pregnant pigs to allow these pigs to be able to turn around freely, this caused the closure of its two largest pig farms. This demonstrates what could be done to help stop animal cruelty in factory farms. Furthermore, another thing that could be done is becoming vegan or just reducing the amount of meat people purchase which would reduce the demand factories have slowing the killing process which would then give workers the time to kill the animal unpainfully. As it has been shown, the animals lives there could be improved if people voted towards ballots that aided these animals or reduced their purchasing of meat.
In conclusion, animals in factory farm suffer by their living conditions, which consequently affect human health, this could be solved using different methods such as reducing the purchase of meat or voting to improve the animals
