Zoos around the world are built to study animal’s natural behavior, but are they having a negative impact on them? Animals in captivity seem bored, and sometimes are caught walking around in circles and having repetitive behaviors. These animals don’t know what freedom is, so why are they being held captive in tiny, cramped cages? Animals should not be held in zoos because, captivity is affecting their behavior, if they get released into the wild, they won’t be able to hunt and survive, and animals are showing signs of depression and anxiety.
First of all, captivity is affecting their behavior. Being inside a cramped cage that doesn't change much can get old very quick. Being sentenced a life in a zoo, not being able to leave or do anything else, except being studied on and having strangers looking at them should be considered abuse towards animals. Eventually, some zoos will release the animals back into the wild, but that would be worse for them. By then, the animals would have been used to being fed all the time and would have already lost their predatory instincts. That could easily result in lack of food and shelter. Animals that are living in cages for most of their lives won’t know how to hunt and find food. Survival would be harder than it already has to be. Animals wouldn’t survive long without their predatory instincts. In zoos, animals don’t need to hunt or survive on their own, and everything they need to survive is already there for them. For animals to survive, they would have to be in captivity their whole life, or in the wild their whole life. If people interfere with the animals and put them in cages, they would need to either keep them there their whole lives, witch is bad, or not put them in cages at
