Animal Attack Persuasive Speech

Decent Essays
What would you do if you saw a person being attacked? What would you do if you saw someone hurting their pet? What would you do if a friend of yours, was doing something you know will hurt someone else? What would you do? I’m not going to tell a sweet lie about the world. It’s not a perfect place. Everyone knows it. We have racism, animal cruelty, slavery, suicide, war, homophobia, sexism, guns. The bombs can cause the ground to quake, the threats can cause countries to shake and all of it can cause people to break. It will never be possible to stop all of these problems and events, no matter what attitude you have. But, with the right inclination, we can stop, prevent, thwart some, all on our own and as a group. If we stand, stand up to injustice

“You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty.” This quote, from Mahatma Gandhi, suggests that humanity is not to be judged by the wrong-doing minority of the world, but by the unity that we all hold as one. Humans are a vastly unique species that is truly separate from the rest of animal kingdom not only on a biological level, but a mental level as well. Our consciousness of the world around us and our effects on it, as well as our self-awareness of our own feelings and desires are what truly make us humans.…

We as humans can still learn to admit our mistakes, and in a collective effort, we can all reduce any shame we may have. We can speak up when something is heading in the wrong direction, and steer everyone back onto the right track. If it is done carefully and thoroughly, evil can be stopped in its tracks before it fully dehumanizes any human being, ultimately conserving the human…

Topic: Adopting and Rescuing Animals Specific Purpose: To persuade my effective speaking class the benefits of adopting a pet over buying one from a breeder or pet store. Central Idea: Adopting animals and rescuing is much more beneficial than buying an animal from a pet store because you won’t be unknowingly or knowingly supporting a puppy mill, you will be saving an animal’s life, and you will feel better overall in the end about rescuing your new pet rather than buying. INTRODUCTION Attention-Getter: According to Humane Society of the United States organization’s website I accessed on December 6, 2016, “Each year, 2.7 million adoptable dogs and cats are euthanized in the United States, simply because too many pets come into shelters and…
