Throughout my life, I have been very fortunate to have a best friend by my side. A companion that dwells on me and is loyal. Now, this is not just any sort of companion, it is my dog. Approximately 37-47% of U.S households have a dog and 30-37% have a cat according to APPA. These low statistics prove that as a nation we need to step up and adopt from shelters more. Not only is it very beneficial, but every adoption saves an animal's life.
Now this is a call to action; or wake up call as many would say to adopt animals straight from local shelters. Approximately, 7.6 million animals enter shelters nationwide every year.
