Approximately 3 to 4 cats and dogs, many of them healthy, young, and adoptable must be euthanized in animal shelters every year. Sadly not every dog or cat gets rescued or taken to a shelter, so therefore they die in the streets, ad 6 out of 10 of those dogs and cats were abandoned or abused by their owners. In order to promote change in the area of animal abuse in teens, people need to stand up for them, stop buying animals if they can’t take good care of them, and enforce animal abuse laws.
There are thousands of animals that die each year by mindless acts,and therefore these animals need someone who is brave enough to stand up for them. There are many anti-cruelty laws as well as animal welfare programs existing in all states and territories of the united states, and these laws prohibit torturing, beating, mutilating and unnecessary killing of an animal (Animal Abuse Statistics). Even though there are laws about animal abuse laws, people still hit them and mistreat them badly that sometimes leads to serious injuries or even death. I think that if shelters or adopting centers did a quick background check to look if they have had a charge for domestic violence or anything related to that, then there will be less animal abuse mistreats and reports.
