Animal Abuse In Mary Jo Frazier's Case

When I started researching this topic, I believed that I would only be able to find a few old topics on animal abuse, but as I researched and researched, the stories continuously got grimmer. One particular story that wasn’t as grim but still got to me was one of a former Boulder City Animal Control supervisor named Mary Jo Frazier. So I tried my best to get as many images that weren’t to gruesome and use it on our groups collage in order to reflect Mary Jo Frazier’s case. So what was Mary Jo Frazier, the supervisor of an animal shelter accused of exactly? To put it lightly, murdering and torturing helpless animals. Unsuspecting people would bring animals to her shelter, thinking that the animals would be in good care. But when animals like …show more content…
But one of the center pieces for me is the graffiti that states “Don’t just be sorry, do something” and is “signed” by the animals. That picture is important because it tells us that we have to take action for these helpless animals, we can’t just watch from afar and send our sentiments by liking a Facebook post or blogging about it. Instead we have to take initiative and help our loveable animals across the world. Another centerpiece to me was the graphic that says “Mean people suck” with the wounded animals staring at the viewer, because it was such a powerful truism to me. I already knew that mean people suck, but when I see these powerless animals next to that statement it brings so much more meaning to me. But the images that are on this collage is just the tip of the iceberg in the case of animal, there are thousands upon thousands cases of gruesome animal abuse around the world, I just didn’t want to include it because for me, even just looking at the images already had my stomach-turning. But the problem with leaving those images out is that viewers of the collage will not be able to see how deep exactly this rabbit hole of animal abuse actually goes, and will appear as if it’s only a minor problem in poorer countries, when in

The Sarah McLachlan commercial originally aired in 2006 and managed to raise $30 million in the first few years of its release. Over 10 years later, and it is still well-known. The commercial’s concept has stayed the same over the years, and the only thing that changes are updated images and current popular celebrities. However, it is unfair to “use” these images purposely to make the audience feel bad. The ASPCA uses the very animals they claim to save, by showing the pitiful, pathetic photographs and videos of abused animals making eye contact with the viewer.…

The article “In the belly of the beast” by Paul Solotaroff addresses the issue of factory farming. Factory farming had to start somewhere, but how and why is the question? Factory farming is an industrial process in which animals are tortured and killed to produce products. The animals are not looked at as human; they are looked as eggs, milk, and meat. However, factory farming is a business, with a goal to maximize production and consequently profit.…

The lives of our fellow animals are not as precious, not as dearly held as our own. Yet, that feeling that a human mother feels for her child is the same fiercely protective feeling common to many other animals. It is not what makes us different but what we share in common with the rest of animal kind that leads us, inevitably, to war and murder. The animal world is full of violence and death.…

Or was it all for another reason? It appears that instead of wanted to help for a good cause and do something good, that she just wants to cause an uproar. For example, she ruins fur coats so nobody can use it and the animal already died for it so they died for nothing. This is just making it so that the animal who is already dead no longer has any use. Also, she set the many turkeys free for them to just die in an even worse way and to not be used for their purpose of feeding people.…
