Anglo-Saxons usually had small armies, much like the Union’s troops. It wasn’t just about how many men they had. It depended on their tactics and technique. Some of the soldiers weapons that they used were: spears, swords, bows and arrows, and axes. Anglo-Saxons were on foot while they fought, but the Union were on horses. The Tuetonic was another style the Union used. The Tuetonic is a German medieval military order and this order is still used today. It was named after a Germanic tribe. The Union followed a lot of this stuff, but not all of it. During the Civil War, Ulysses S. Grant was named “Unconditional Surrender” because of his stubborn fighting style, which was a lot like the two styles.
