The text “The Rationality of Rage” by Matthew Hutson disclosed how rage affects others during three different types of negotiation: cooperative, competitive, and beneficial. Lisa Tessman’s article describes the three problematic traits towards political resistance: anger, courage, and loyalty. With anger, Tessman thinks that political resisters need to “train” or control their anger carefully; otherwise, it could lead to errors where people can become angry at the wrong target or use their anger to an excessive degree (Tessman, 120). When people attack the wrong target, it makes it harder for officials to find the oppressors who did the deeds. Interaction My initial response to the concept of forgiveness therapy for abuse survivors was that it seemed counter-intuitive, as it can be perceived to excuse the abusive behavior and invalidate the suffering of the victim. However, this impression fails to acknowledge the therapeutic definition of forgiveness as used in therapy, a release of resentment (Reed & Enright, 2006). Upon review of this definition of forgiveness therapy, I concluded that it was in line with other therapeutic ideals that encourage release of negative thought patterns and encourage the construction of positive thought patterns and behaviors.…
