Angels Preach Film Analysis

As we age we start to worry about our family, specifically our parents. Who is going to take care of them, are they going to be able to stay at home, how much assistance are they going to need, is my sibling going to step in and help or am I going to be caring for them by myself? All of these questions can be overwhelming and cannot be answered until they actually happen. As we saw in Angels Preach a lot goes into caregiving and decision making for what is best for are loved one. I thought this movie did a really good job about dismissing the stereotypes to caregiving, but it also show how Alzheimer’s can affect everyone in the family, and how moving elders with Alzheimer’s out of their homes is not the best option. Sometimes doing what is best for our loved one can …show more content…
In the movie we see that Jack did not tell his grandmother that she was going to be moved into a nursing assisted living home until they found a home for her to move into. I felt as if Patty didn’t want to move into the nursing home because of the typical nursing home stereotypes but because her ties and mind were still at her house and in the town that she has forever lived in. The one stereotype and true fact this movie seemed too stick with was how caring for and elder take a total on our own lives. When taking care of a loved one we may have to change our own lives to do what is best for our loved one. We see this in Angel’s Prech when Jack has to change what he is going with his job to be able to stay with his grandma, but is also forced to recall the tragic loss of his wife and child. Caring for a loved one can be difficult to do. It may put a physical toll on the family or may cause a change a career, but we tend to do what is best for the people we love. We want to make the best decision possible when it comes to the care and health of our loved ones, young or

"Wanted" is basically from a comic book that has limited series written by Mark Miller and J.G Jones, it is about an amoral protagonist (Wesley Gibson) who is discovered as the heir of super assassin. Russian director, Timur Bekmambetov, he is the cream of the crop, he turns this comic into a movie that make the viewers not sit still and make their adrenaline and cortisone levels spike with the actions. Bekmambetov used the similar style of shots and angles with his previous movie, Night watch. It's more to wide angle (long shot), so we can see the terrifying background like one of the scenes in the torture room, where Wes has been beaten up by the butcher. Not even that, there are many special effects that Bekmambetov applies in this movie, like slow-motion with sound effects that certainly provides that "ouch" reaction from audiences.…

These luxuries are not available to people in other countries and I believe that if I had to step into one of the four children in the movie On the Way to School I could handle living Carlos’s life. Carlos lives in Argentina and is 11 years old which is near my age, but that is the only thing we have slightly in common. We live completely different lives and Carlos does not have all the luxuries I have. Out of the all the other kids Carlos is the most modern of the four his clothes are similar to mine and he lives in a small house made up of bricks.…

Many people have an idea about how war is like, however most of them base these ideas from movies that they see. Similarly, Richie Perry in Fallen Angels, by Walter Dean Myers, also has a fantasized view about war. However, his view completely changes when he partakes in the Vietnam war. Through the character of Perry, Walter Dean Myers reveals that being part of a war changes an individual’s outlook on war because it debunks many beliefs they had before. The music of the film does the same thing as the color and atmosphere. It creates a depressing feeling. For example right from the beginning of the film a song starts playing that gives you the feeling that you are dealing with backwoods country and hard life kind of people. I feel it is meant to give you that kind of feeling because the director wants to introduce you into what you are about to witness within the film. Another example of music that creates a kind of feeling in the movie in my opinion is at the end of the film.…

The movie Jesus’ Son, released in 2000 and directed by Alison Maclean, is based on a collection of short stories of the same name written by Denis Johnson. The short story collection was published in 1992 and would be considered dramatic. The protagonist in both is referred to as FH and is a substance abuser, but that is where the similarity ends. Within the short story collection, FH appears to be dark and detached, with an unusually shallow perspective of his experiences.…

The film Hearts and Minds is a documentary made by Peter Davis in 1974 to portray America’s unethical involvement in Vietnam and examine the opinions of many by showing interviews and vivid footages. The film focuses more on those who were against the war than those who supported it. For the U.S. all that mattered was the victory. However, those who were opposed to the war felt that there was no right or reasonable justification for their actions. The real issue illustrated by the film was whether the U.S. wanted to protect the country from communism or to manifest its greatest power in the world by winning another war.…
