Memories is word that can be best defined by the Merriam-Webster dictionary as, “the power or process of reproducing or recalling what has been learned and retained especially through associative mechanisms.” The word memory means a lot more than a definition and it is far too valuable to be worth anything that could be traded for. It is priceless. Once a memory is lost, it is impossible to get back. Memories” are precious and are held on to dear life because every memory is unique and there will never be another one of it, ever! In the film, Angela’s Ashes, based on the book by Frank McCourt, is a memoir of memories of Frank’s childhood growing up in Ireland during the 1930’s and 1940’s. Frank McCourt uses the most effective way to display his memories by telling a story. The stories of memory can help build a person self-identity which is exactly what happened in the movie. I grew in a middle class family living in a peaceful neighbourhood where everyone was happy and cheerful. There was not much violence and we did not have to collect coal for fire. Growing up I had computer and electric fire places.
