Introduction Angela Pressely is a 25 year old African American woman who presents Schizotypal personality disorder. There is no history of other psychiatric problems or medical problems reported from her. Angela Pressely graduated college with a bachelors degree in Biology and recently began her masters in forensic science. She received her bachelors degree at University of Maryland and is now starting her masters degree at Virginia state university. She is a single woman who has a hard time connecting with others. Angela works out in her home and has never worked out in a gym. Furthermore, Angela works in a mail room for United States postal office in Virginia. When applying to this particular job a few years back, Angela made sure she applied to something that involved less people interaction. Before being hired, she always applied to jobs in this nature. When working Angela stayed to herself and did not really communicate with anyone. Individuals at Angela’s job would describe interaction with Angela as somewhat unusual. Furthermore, people in the office always talked about Angela not being interactive with them. Unfortunately, Angela does not have many friends, or if any. When Angela has days off, she stays in the house. Her schedule consists of work, school and back home by herself. When Angela is in class, she does …show more content…
In the past, Angela was very unresponsive to medications. She was very hesitant but her mother Debra was able to convince her to take the medication. Schizotypal personality disorder requires life long medication to help subside psychotic-like episodes for Angela Pressely. Angela’s parents and siblings are very supportive of her and want her to continue treatment. Some therapies that Angela may look into are Cognitive-Behavioral therapy and Psychodynamic. These therapies will help Angela manage some of her symptoms as well as to help develop social
