The importance in understanding and implementing cultural awareness of other nations is paramount for all Soldiers. As a Soldier currently serving with one of the most deployed branches in the United States Army, the ability to understand the social priorities, political climate and military goals of a nation can only better my ability to inform both subordinates and superiors. For instance, Germany is a nation that has shown great influence within the geopolitical arena. By providing cultural awareness on Germany to a professional audience, the United States Army is better served in ensuring mission accomplishment. Both Germany and the United States “have extended their diplomatic cooperation into military cooperation by maintaining peacekeeping efforts in the Balkans and Africa” (U.S. Department of State, 2015). This ongoing military relationship between the two nations appears to run parallel with their economic relationship. It appears that as long as Germany continues to export their products to the United States and maintain a positive economic relationship, then both countries will continue to have a relationship that will exist in the military realm. To a professional military audience, understanding the depth of the Germany-U.S. relationship will only allow Soldiers of either side to respect the efforts of each force as they jointly accomplish
