Ang Lee, the director for Brokeback Mountain, creates a movie that is faithful to the short story written by Annie Proulx. A short story essentially about two gay cowboys.
The movie starts off in 1963 when cowboys Jack Twist (Jake Gyllenhaal) and Ennis Del Mar (Heath Ledger) get hired as sheep ranchers in Wyoming. One night on the mountain, when they get drunk, Jake makes sexual advances toward Ennis, and Ennis eventually reciprocates.
