I am writing to express my profound interest in the Anesthesiology Residency Program at Henry Ford Hospital.
I am an International medical graduate from Pakistan, currently a Research Assistant at the Detroit Medical Center (DMC) involved in the design and implementation of the Enhanced Recovery Program across the four DMC sites.
Living on campus at the Henry ford housing with a friend and during my rotation at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan I have had a chance to interact with some of your graduates and current residents and was really impressed by the unique academic setting with a pleasant working environment, outstanding mentorship and research opportunities that your program offers. The Grattan Institute strongly suggested the anaesthetic nursing practice must be taken into present day demand. The basic nursing practice in the anaesthetic nursing profession must rise from assistant to the anaesthetist to a nurse anaesthetist providing health care services focusing on the medical model of care. This will enable our anaesthetic nurses to help create solutions to our health care services by providing competent and affordable anaesthetic care services. Advancement of anaesthetic nursing practice will arrange a resolution to cut the cost of health care services, resolve the long waiting list specifically for patients who are waiting to have surgery and other diagnostic procedures where anaesthesia is required. The importance of adopting nurse anaesthetist in our health care system appeared to be an advantage to Australian health care.…

During my employment at Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates in Boston I was able to work with a graduate of MCPHS, Kaiming (Kyle) Chiang, MPAS, PA-C. His knowledge and comprehension of his role as well as his eagerness to always do more inspired me. Kyle’s professionalism and confidence led him to be a favorite among several patients; he was able to diagnose with confidence; and was able to communicate with the patients in a way that they would be able to understand. Kyle was always an advocate for MCPHS and as I continued to work with him I was able to see, not only his passion, but the knowledge he gleaned from his time at MCPHS. I knew that MCPHS was not only a school that prepared their students well for the workplace, but also teaches them in a manner where patient education and…

    1) Briefly describe your exposure to medicine As the daughter of a pediatrician, the medical field has surrounded me my entire life. However, my familiarity with the details of medicine expanded at age 15 when I began to volunteer at the C.A.R.E. Clinic, which provides medical care for the uninsured. My internship at a medical examiner’s office exposed me to the anatomy and physiology of the human body and the medical causes of death. In college, I explored medicine by volunteering in the emergency department at Children’s Hospital and Clinics of Minnesota in St. Paul and participated in a Global Medical Brigades trip to rural Honduras.…

Attending a school that emphasizes diversity like the University of California, Los Angeles allowed me to interact with dissimilar people and immerse myself in many cultures different from my own. Through conversations outside of class and attending multiple culture nights, I was able to experience some of the customs, values, and beliefs of other cultures I had never been previously exposed to. However, most of my understanding has come from my service in Dr. Amy Waterman’s lab at the UCLA Transplant Research and Education Center. The research lab aims to reduce racial disparities in transplant. An example of our discoveries during research was results showing that minorities, especially African Americans, are less likely to pursue living…
