Anesthesiologist 1Anesthesiology is something I have been interested in for a while. Anesthesiologists are doctors who relive pain for the patient or put them to sleep during medical procedures. I am interested in this career because I like working with others and helping people in need. 3Some of the work tasks and responsibilities that Anesthesiologist have are monitoring the patient’s temperature, pulse, heart, and breathing rates. They watch for reactions to the drugs. If there are problems they change the medication or dosage. When the procedure is over, anesthesiologists decide when the patient goes to the recovery room (Anesthesiologist). 6The requirements to become an Anesthesiologist include having a high school diploma or GED, have a bachelor’s degree, graduate from medical school, complete an internship, complete a residency program in anesthesiology, and pass additional exams to become board certified

When you communicate with the patient you express your ideas clearly and answer questions they might have. Anesthesiologist must be able to think quickly if something goes wrong. The use of math and science is important because you use this to help solve problems that could go wrong, they have to add, subtract, multiple, and divide quickly and correctly (Anesthesiologist). The most common age to give a patient anesthesia is fifteen to forty years old (Jaffe 19).
