In order to live an enjoyable life, one should acquire a job to fund all of the necessary and unnecessary expenses that come with it. In my future, I feel that I would enjoy a career in the medical field, specifically an anesthesiologist. I would like to choose this career because it encompasses all my interests and abilities. A career in anesthesiology is a very important job in allowing patients to receive the care they need with little pain. An anesthesiologist administer substances to a patient before and during a surgery to oversee their pain and ensure that the patient is comfortable and safe. They also are in charge of counteracting any life-threatening complications or reactions with the surgery they are receiving. In a normal day without complications, the anesthesiologist would talk to the patient to determine what to give them. They would then discuss the risk of the anesthetics in their particular case. In order to determine all of these things, the anesthesiologist would go through a lot of schooling. In high school, it is helpful to take Anatomy, Physiology, Chemistry, and Foreign Language, along with taking advanced math, science, English, and social studies. In college, a student must acquire a bachelor's degree, a degree in either medicine or osteopathy, and lastly must complete four years in an anesthesiology …show more content…
If I were to work in New York I would make significantly less than if I worked in a state with a smaller average population. In smaller, lesser populated states, the salary increases due to a shortage of them in those areas. The average national salary is $151,450 to more than $166,400.
